Monday 28th April – Gibraltar (Europa Point)

This morning we were up early to see Wandering Dragon off – they are heading on East to Estepona.  While Stephen went off to the post-office to collect the post they have been waiting for we ‘helped’ by bringing some coffee down to distract Anne.

Once they had left, Peter and Richard headed off to the chandlery again – fortunately for the budget they came back empty handed.

Early this afternoon we ventured off on the bikes to Europa Point – the light house at the far end of the Rock.  This proved a little more physical than anticipated with some steep hills to deal with – later we spotted a flatter route for getting there along the coast, though the one way system would have stopped us getting back the same way.  We passed a police speed check-point at one point but there was little chance of us exceeding the speed limit.  Once there it was great to look out across the Straits to Africa.

On the way back, the others carried on to La Línea to the chandlery there – this time is was open – and I came back to Pyxis to try and stow some of the stores we have been stocking up on.

This evening we have had a quiet dinner with a DVD.
