Sunday 9th December – Lagos

Today we were up even earlier than yesterday (though not necessarily brighter) to collect Brian from the airport at Faro (~ 70km away) at 09.00.  Although armed with Union Jack hats and banners, our reception plans were slightly scuppered by the flight having arrived early !!  Nevertheless the situation was duly recovered and then we headed back to Lagos.

We introduced Brian to the big Retail Park at Portimão and the Pingo Doce (our local supermarket) at Lagos before arriving back at the Marina.

Unfortunately Brian has brought some British weather with him - it has been cloudy all day with only occasional sunshine – we hope normal service is restored tomorrow.

After lunch we took the dinghy for a short run down to the harbour entrance – the slight chop from the northerly wind meant that Brian and I at the front of the dinghy ended up a little wet by the time we got back – Richard at the back couldn’t understand what the fuss was about but thinks it would be solved by a 10HP engine.

Later this afternoon we went for coffee down at one of the beach front cafes with Moonshadow. We are hoping that Brian gets over his hangover soon…

This evening I am cooking dinner aboard Pyxis.

Whilst waiting for dinner, Richard has taken the high power searchlight down to Wandering Dragon to help test their new curtains for them.  He has now returned to pour himself a drink as he was ‘nominated driver’ this afternoon.

As the smoke alarm has just gone off dinner must be ready J
