Wednesday 21^st April – Messolonghi (Bikes & Jam)

It was still rather windy today so I did some washing whilst Richard tackled the bikes.  Sadly the good dose of WD40 yesterday wasn’t enough to revive them and so some new brake cables were in order.  At lunchtime we headed into town in search of a new brake lever (as one had snapped off yesterday) and a few provisions.

This afternoon, during his repairs, Richard asked me to pass him the WD40 from the chart table seat (which is also a cupboard).  When I looked inside, I couldn’t believe it – he’d tidied it up – usually it’s just a messy pile of ‘stuff’.  As a consequence, I couldn’t find the WD40 and had to tell him it was now too tidy!  I’ll never live that one down.

I’m pleased to say that this evening both bikes are now working and have had a test drive around the marina.

Tonight we have been up to the clubhouse as it was music night; those with guitars, accordions, clarinets or harmonicas join together for an informal ‘jam’ session.
