Friday 21st August – Messolonghi (Mesolóngion)

Today we had a day aboard dealing with various jobs in sweltering heat accompanied by a strong NE breeze (which was also very warm and had been blowing strongly all night).

I continued with my book, interrupting it to do a bit of washing, which dried quickly in 35 degree heat, stiff breeze and 31% humidity.

We have been trying to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated but it is quite a chore in these conditions.  This afternoon Richard topped up the main fuel tank with the last of our spare cans of fuel.

This evening we topped up the water tanks which was quite involved as the tap is some distance away; in the end we used the long hose on the tap plus our hose, plus one from Enya, plus one from our French neighbour all connected together.  We will be glad when they have the new pontoons installed with electric and water to each berth – still at least we didn’t have to use the dinghy to go ashore and fill jerry cans.

It was very late by the time we finished and we have had a quiet evening aboard enjoying some Greek fare for dinner.
