When we finally arose, Richard went round to check on the balloons to find that they were surviving the 25 knot wind whistling through the marina.  Mission accomplished.

Peter and Carola came round at lunchtime to see if we knew anything about the balloons on their boat but we denied all knowledge. However, we may have then given the game away by giving them some of the long ‘modelling’ balloons to see if they could make a poodle – we all failed that particular challenge, we just about managed to make some funny shaped hats.

I dug out a dress for this evening and we went for a fantastic meal for Carola’s birthday at a really good restaurant in town.

On the way back, we called in at a tempting new bar at the marina which had a band playing (and that we hadn’t yet visited).  We then ended up drinking cocktails until 4.30am - oh dear!
