Wednesday 22nd August – Morgat

Once again the rain and winds threatened.  Luckily for us, only the wind arrived and it was sunny all day, enabling me to do the washing, which dried in record time – I did have to keep an eye on it though and use extra pegs!

There was a brief lull this morning and so we moved the boat to the other side of the pontoon so that we are now being blown off.  We are also now facing the prevailing wind and so we no longer get the slapping of the waves on the transom.  May peace and quiet reign tonight.

This afternoon I made some vegetable pasties from scratch, i.e. pastry, filling in a cheese sauce etc. etc.  Even Richard thinks they look good – the test will be whether or not he volunteers to eat one though.

We think the dolphin is a Morgat resident – he has appeared several times today, to the delight of everyone here.  This evening he appeared right under our bow and we had an excellent view of him from above.  He did some excellent stunts which we entirely failed to capture on camera.  He seems to like chasing the dinghies.  The harbour master keeps trying to lead him out of the harbour with his dinghy but the dolphin keeps coming back.  I’ll guess he’ll leave when he’s ready.
