Today our long awaited delivery finally arrived.  We ordered a small ‘suitcase’ generator some time back from a dealer in the UK which was much cheaper than trying to source one locally.  Unfortunately the challenge has been getting it from the dealer in the UK to us in Mallorca.  It has ended up going via my parents who have then shipped it to us once we sorted somewhere to stay.

After a false start when the first courier decided it was too heavy for them to deal with, the second courier has managed to get it out here.  Originally we had arranged for it to go to the main post office here for them to hold for us and us to collect; unfortunately the courier was unable to deliver it as anticipated last Thursday as they needed directions for the main post office – no, we couldn’t understand it either.  In the end we spoke to the lady in the chandlery at the nearby marina who was happy for us to send it to them instead, which saved us quite a walk into town.

So at lunchtime we loaded our new delivery into the dinghy and ferried it out to Pyxis.

Soon after we were both surprised and pleased when Sedna arrived early afternoon for a couple of days.  Wolf had just sailed over from Ibiza with his two daughters; leaving Ibiza at first light and enjoying a swift passage in the fresh winds today.

Our dislike of motor-boats continues – whilst there are some very considerate skippers, a majority fail to realise that the reason there is an uncomfortable swell in the anchorage when they are moored here is largely because of the wash that is created by motor boats just like themselves.  Today has been particularly rolly as unfortunately the wind has gone around to the south meaning we are often beam-on to the swell entering the bay L

This evening we have run the generator to recharge the batteries (Richard is particularly happy with the percentage charge showing on the monitor now), and to top up everything else using batteries on board J
