Sunday 20th January – Vilamoura

Today was another scorcher and it was straight on with the bikini this morning after breakfast.  This afternoon I even had to cover up because I felt I might be getting too much sun – I can’t believe it’s January.

I did a bit of sunbathing but also did a few jobs around the boat - I did some cleaning and baked another loaf of bread – we really like home made bread and it is going down too well.

Richard has started work on fitting the microwave; those of you who’ve known us for a while, and visited us on Pyxis, will be smiling at this point, aware that we’ve had this microwave for over four years now.

We’ve looked to fit it before and been in touch with our local dealer a few times but it always seems to be a bespoke solution getting a local carpenter in – in the US it is a standard feature on this boat!

Richard started once before, a few years ago, and built a beautiful shelf for the galley, varnished and stained it to match the wood, and then we changed the design.  This is microwave installation v2.0; if all goes to plan it will be recessed into the aft locker rather than take up space in the galley – much better!
