Thursday 3rd June – Monemvasía

Today has been a tad windy, we know this because the fishing boats decided not to go out and two very large fishing boats have come and rafted on the outer harbour wall.  The windex and the whistling of the wind overhead were also a clue, as was our neighbour telling us how windy it was at 2am and 5am in the night (as they had been awaken by it).  Nevertheless a few yachts have come and gone; we have helped them arrive and depart.  As the harbour is full today with smaller boats alongside, a few larger ones are sitting out at anchor.

Despite the wind, the sun has shone and the sky has been clear, though this evening we can see some dark clouds rolling in over the hills behind us.

We have continued catching up with boat jobs; some cleaning and some more washing for me whilst Richard has sorted the puncture on the rear tyre of my bike (again) - we discovered it as we went to cycle to the island last night.  Late afternoon he used the dinghy to go along our port side and polish off the black marks we got from the tyres hung alongside the commercial harbour wall in Navplion.

This evening we went for some traditional English fare and had chips and egg onboard rather than take another walk into town to the supermarket – it was great.
