Friday 11th September – Iris Hotel, Nidri, Levkas – Sivota, Levkas

This morning we had to leave the Iris Hotel as they needed the pontoon for the returning charter yachts that afternoon.  After topping up the water tanks and downloading the weather, Richard popped into town with David and Sarah to get our respective paperwork stamped by the Port Police and pick up a few supplies.

Cape, Cirrusly Blue and Pyxis set off just after noon and, with the wind blowing F4/5 dead astern we had enough wind for a genoa run down to Sivota; the selection of Sivota was something to do with the strongish winds forecast over night, it being very sheltered, and the water clear enough to swim there.  The three boats sailed down at pretty much the same pace; the two larger boats goose-winging with both sails and Pyxis running happily on just her genoa.

We arrived mid afternoon and we were pleased to find our old spot available and slipped into it nicely, hoping that this time the hook would hold.

Cape were one boat away and Cirrusly Blue were a couple of boats beyond so we were all fairly close together and, after tying off, all ended up on Cirrusly Blue, chatting about our sail down.

This evening after dinner we all went to Cape and played a game of ‘Who/ What/ When is in the Bag?’ until quite late.  We were so sheltered when we turned in that we felt none of the forecast wind (if it was happening outside that is).
