Today we were up and tackling a few more jobs.

Richard took the genoa down and made more repairs to the ailing protective sun strip; we think we will have to replace the sun strip soon as it is getting worse in the strong sunlight.

I finished a book and then finished the new prototype mosquito net and installed it on one of the hatches.  It looks great, this improved design is the one I will need to use for all the hatches – it will take me more time but it will be worth it.  I’ll even need some chandlery to finish them off!

The actions of motor-boats have continued to impress us today…  we had a very large 72 foot motor boat arrive and anchor too close to us.  We weren’t too worried as they only stay for the day and this had a professional crew on watch but at times we felt they could have easily handed us a drink (but didn’t) as the boats swung.  Unfortunately this meant it was too risky to hoist the genoa again in the afternoon sea breeze until they left.  Luckily it wasn’t too late and it gave us time for a swim.

Early evening we went for a run in the dinghy the mile or so to Cabo Malgrats and then around the islands of Isla Malgrats and Isla de los Conejos, SW of Cala de Santa Ponsa. 

We came back for showers and dinner on deck and we now have a fabulous sunset with a very red sky and a new moon chasing the sun down.
