Tuesday 26th August – Cala Porté (En Porter), Menorca

We felt refreshed this morning after a good night’s sleep.  This morning we had breakfast enjoying the view in this lovely, picturesque anchorage.  After breakfast the wind was gusting up to a force 5 and we stayed on board to make sure the anchor was holding; it was fine but we popped another 5 metres of chain out anyway, just to be sure.  Even though the wind gusted, it was from land, so there was no swell so it was still very comfortable.

We elected for a quiet day on board and both read and sunbathed on deck.  It is so beautiful, we are sitting between steep cliffs and looking into crystal clear water - it is nice to simply sit on deck and enjoy the scenery.

This evening after dinner we had been invited over to Cape for drinks.  We chatted and chatted and the wine slipped down; it was one of those evenings where you just don’t know where the time has gone.  I discovered that David does a lot of fishing from Cape and he has caught tuna and swordfish – he was kind enough to let me interrogate him about it so I now know what reel and what lures I need to use and what weight of line I will need etc. etc.

Needless to say it was late by the time we returned to Pyxis.
