Saturday 29th November – Cagliari (We have power)

The weather today was much better than forecast – it wasn’t raining and it wasn’t blowing a gale.  In fact it was positively warm in the cockpit enclosure when we woke up so we breakfasted up there watching the world go by.

After breakfast it still wasn’t raining and there was no wind at all.  A couple of boats took the chance to air their mainsails after all the rain and I decided to risk a small amount of washing.  A few other boats went for the gap as well and soon we all had washing hanging around the boats.  Sadly it was not good drying weather and eventually I had to finish drying it inside.

Richard tried out the new mouse and was delighted at how easy it was to push through the duct; we now have a new electric cable pulled through from one side of the boat to the other.  During the afternoon he fitted and wired up new low level sockets in both the saloon and our cabin.  They have made a big difference – tidying up the wiring for the heaters and electric blankets.  We no longer have cables strung across the cabin J

This afternoon I cooked a quiche for the buffet party up at the gazebo this evening – it was another birthday party, this time for one of the local Sards.  It was well attended with dancing afterwards – it was good to get off the boat for a bit.

The party went on into the early hours.  When we all left it seemed like a good idea to have a nightcap so we went back to Cape for some limoncella and tequila.  Amazingly the weather had warmed up sufficiently for us to sit up on deck.  It makes a change for it to be a party rather than the weather keeping us up at night these days…
