Tuesday 6th November – Lagos (We’re back)

We have had a lovely time in the UK over the last two weeks, catching up with family and friends.  Unfortunately our return today involved a very, very early start this morning (up at 3.20am) to get to Gatwick.

The flight back with Easyjet was once again good and right on time; there was a lot more cloud than on the way to the UK so more difficult to watch the coast.

On arrival, we came through customs ready to catch a train back to Lagos, only to find a great surprise in store for us.  Totally unexpectedly, Peter and Carolla from Moonshadow and Wolf and Barbara from Sedna had come to meet us, complete with trolley, their two danbuoys with a ‘Pyxis’ banner strung between them, wearing union jack hats, making lots of noise (we just avoided getting arrested) and glasses of rosado !  It was a fantastic welcome.

We were back at the marina by lunchtime and found Pyxis safe and sound – still with anchor and winches.

The weather is still fair here but not as warm as it was when we left – though much warmer than the UK, that is, we still put on our bathing suits as soon as we arrived.

We haven’t ventured far.  This afternoon we have been to the supermarket to restock and had a sleep to catch up.  We’ve done the prawns, tzatziki and baguette routine tonight and will now be having early night.
