Saturday 8^th November – Cagliari (Planes, buses & automobiles)

Today marked the end of our visit to England, having caught up with the P’s and with Richard’s Mum.  Unfortunately, we hadn’t done much else as a couple of days after we landed we went down with colds, first Richard and then me and so we spent two weeks appreciating what we have been missing whilst away!

Up at 6am this morning, we had a quick breakfast and drove down to Luton for our trip back to Cagliari and hopefully warmer weather.  We did wonder if we would make the flight - there were signs all the way down the M1 on Saturday morning saying the motorway was closed J15 - J14. At J16 they were diverting London traffic onto the M40, then as we approached J15 everything stopped... fortunately only a few minutes later everything started moving, the motorway was open and no sign at all of whatever had closed it, in fact we ended up early at the airport.

Our Easyjet flight was on time and we landed early at Cagliari.  As we went out to find the local bus to take us back to the marina, we found that Anne and Stephen from Wandering Dragon had come to meet us with Bethany from Cape.  They had already sorted out the tickets for the bus and we were soon back at Pyxis.

We spent an hour or so unpacking and then went for food with Wandering Dragon – it was really nice not having to cook as we were feeling tired after our journey.
