Today was another bright, sunny day that made it feel like summer had arrived – this is such a nice spot for relaxing.  This morning I caught up with a bit of washing whilst Richard did a bit of maintenance around the boat and then after lunch we decided to take a trip to Spain - OK, we dinghied across the river.

We spent the afternoon wandering around Sanlúcar de Guadiana on the other side of the river, We visited the windmills at the top of the hill.  The windmills were interesting in that the blades are cloth sails rather than the solid structures I have seen previously in the UK.  Also, the views of the river from the top of the hill were fantastic and made the climb worth it.

On the return to the river we stopped in at the local church.  It had a rather modest interior compared to most of the churches we have visited.

After a bit of light provisioning in one of the local shops we dinghied back across to Portugal.

Tonight we caught up with our emails – it has been spotted that we have taken a left turn up a river when the Med was straight on – lucky we weren’t spotted going backwards the other week J.
