Sunday 25th April – Messolonghi (BBQ)

Today we woke to find the wind had dropped away and all was still.  Sadly though, our neighbours, who had arrived late yesterday afternoon, were already up on deck and getting on with jobs aboard shouting at the tops of their voices.

As we finished breakfast the wind switched on again and has continued to blow strongly from the east until late afternoon when it dropped and went to the west.  Fortunately it has remained warm and sunny.

This morning I rinsed off the old cockpit enclosure on the foredeck so that it is clean and ready to store.  Then Richard went off to explore the land and canal behind the marina as we haven’t ventured out that way yet.  The land is very flat which makes for easy walking and it is quite scenic with the open salt marshes and hills in the background.

This afternoon there has been another Sunday BBQ which was well attended by many of the boats, most of which are busy making preparations to depart on their summer cruising.

After the BBQ Richard took me for a shorter version of the walk he had taken earlier; we returned for showers and a relax aboard.
