Tuesday 21st  April – Bizerte, Tunisia (More like Brighton)

The weather has deteriorated further – all day we have had strong W/NW winds gusting through the harbour to complement the rain; outside the harbour the forecast has promised F7-8 winds with thunderstorms to match – so much for being in Africa, more like our visit to Brighton 2 summers ago.  One lone yacht on passage has ventured in to get out of the foul conditions, a sturdy steel boat; no one else is moving.

Early afternoon there was a short gap in the rain so we dashed into town to the market for a few veggies and some fresh bread – they know us at the bakery now.  We just managed to get back to the boat as the heavens opened again, just managing to keep the bread dry.

This afternoon we have been sitting out the weather playing crib, dominoes, and tri-ominoes and trying to keep warm (we have given up on the electric supply being fixed).  We have managed to get our gaz bottle refilled today - for less than half the price in Sardinia and they deliver it to the boat☺

This evening we nearly went for a walk into town to visit the old medina but the clouds are still boding; maybe tomorrow.
