Wednesday 15th October – Cagliari (Sizzling Bananas & American Pancakes)

Not sure about a quiet night in with a DVD to recover last night – it was pretty late by the time we had put the covers back on the seats in the saloon, made the bed, tidied up, cooked dinner, showered, etc., and the film turned out to be pretty awful…  C’est la vie!

Still, we were up pretty promptly and continued on our job list – at some point we will go and explore Sardinia J

Yet more washing was completed by me, and Richard repaired a couple of small holes which had appeared in the surface gel coat of the deck.  We had been keeping these sealed with tape against the elements but decided a more permanent solution was needed before any dampness found its way in and turned a slight nuisance into a bigger problem.  The weather was very hot which made it good for both these jobs.

Later in the afternoon I decided to try my hand at making bread again.  I had to time this carefully as we had received an invitation from Bethany to join them all aboard Cape at 16.00 to sample the results of their cookery session with Stephen and Anne from Wandering Dragon.  Bethany had created Sizzling bananas and Bryn was making American pancakes – both were really delicious.  Stephen was even allowed to cook some pancakes as well.

We had to make a few quick returns to Pyxis to complete my bread making as the afternoon rolled on into a beautifully relaxing evening aboard Cape.
