This morning, Richard left me in bed and went up on deck for a coffee in the morning still.  Outside the marina there were dark clouds approaching.  Half an hour later the cloud arrived – together with strong wind and heavy rain, in fact the sort of weather that Richard had been expecting yesterday.  Fortunately the squall soon went through but the rain continued throughout the morning.  Our neighbours had gone off to town before it started and came back along the pontoon drenched.

Last night it was time to break out the night-time cold/flu tablets to fight my cold.  However, despite these, I hardly slept with my persistent cough and so I’m feeling very groggy.  What with the rain and what with my cold we abandoned plans of moving on today, deciding to give my cold another day to clear.  So today I have taken it easy, even more so than yesterday, reading and sipping hot lemon and honey.

At lunchtime, once the rain had cleared, Richard went off for a few odds and ends at the supermarket.  Today the market is once more dedicated to fruit and veg and so he had to stop and buy more lemons on the way back (along with more cherries as a kilo only seems to last a day J).

This afternoon the weather has cleared up; there is still some cloud about but the sun is out and there has been no wind so it has been very hot in the cockpit.
