Sunday 23rd December – Lagos

Another hot and sunny day in Lagos.  This morning we did some final shopping for those last minute things for Christmas Day, like even more food.

As Peter and Carola are away at the moment, we have been checking on their boat.  During the recent gales, the radar reflector at the top of the mast had come loose and was banging on the wooden mast.  We decided this was not good and so this morning I hoisted Richard all the way to the top of the mast to fix it – it was a long way, and quite hard work, even with Richard trying to climb up.  He fixed the radar reflector to the backstay with cable ties to stabilise it until they get back.  I was very impressed – I looked up at him whilst he was up there and he looked an awful long way up.

All this before lunchtime.

This afternoon we showered after our exertions this morning and had a more relaxing afternoon.

Unfortunately I have developed a sore throat this evening – something I must have picked up from someone at the Christmas party.  It’s very unusual for me to pick something up, so I’m hoping with some rest tonight and tomorrow to be fighting fit again by Christmas Day.
