Monday 16th July – Weymouth to Brixham

50:23.98N 3:30.39W

Left Weymouth at about 11.30 and headed slowly off towards Portland Bill – although almost the last to leave Weymouth we were still just on the early side for catching the change of tide and allowing us to use the inside passage close inshore and avoid the strong tidal race.

The sun was out as we rounded the Bill and set course for Brixham. We then had a fabulous sail across Lyme Bay. Pyxis excelled herself across Lyme Bay (and justified our lie-in at Weymouth) by overhauling a number of yachts that had left before her.  We were cruising along at around 8 knots in the 12-14 knots southerly wind.

Arrived in Brixham and now comfortably moored up in the marina just by the lifeboat.
