Saturday 13th September – Mahón, Menorca

It was a very grey and overcast morning with occasional spit-spots of rain.  It cleared a little around lunchtime and so we ventured out on the dinghy to change the gaz bottle but found that the chandlery had shut at 1pm as it is Saturday and we had missed it.

The up side was that it was almost next door to the gin factory and, as a Fred Olsen cruise liner was in, we knew that it would be open.  So, we popped round for an early aperitif to cheer ourselves up – the guy at the factory recognised us but was very cheerful about our reappearance!  We returned with some pomada anyway.

We wandered back to Pyxis and, after filling the water tanks, had a quiet afternoon and evening on board; the weather cheered up a bit but still not great.
