Monday 8th October – Lagos

Today we went to the indoor market and bought some provisions.  We then explored the town of Lagos

It was a bit of a shock; Lagos is a pretty town with cobbled streets and fabulous little bars, shops and restaurants – but it is full of tourists, all of them speaking English (and this is out of season) !

I hadn’t realised that we had arrived in the middle of a holiday resort; there is even a bar called Fools and Horses - selling steak & kidney pie, and Tetley beer.

Richard tells me that most of the marinas along the Algarve are built in holiday resorts.  Ah well, my efforts to learn Portuguese weren’t going very well anyway.
