Saturday 8th May – Andíkirion

38:22.559N 22:37.984E

Today it is Mum’s birthday, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM!

As we couldn’t be with her today, we had celebrated before we left by taking her to a Sheffield United hospitality event, not so bizarre as it sounds as Mum and Dad are season ticket holders.  Football not being our usual hobby, we enjoyed finishing off the wine whilst everyone else went out to enjoy the match…

… well, not quite; we did watch the first half but as no-one had managed to get the round thingy into the net thingy, we spent the second half finishing off the wine, and we apparently missed nothing as Sheffield and Barnsley drew 0:0 L

However, the lunch before hand was really good and Mum was presented with a bottle of champagne by one of the very handsome players along with Captain Blade, so we hope she is enjoying the champagne this weekend.

Here in Andíkirion it has been cloudy and we even had a spot of rain over night.  However it has cleared during the day. With easterly winds forecast it was not a day for moving on, however, the wind up here today has been quite pleasant after yesterday’s hostilities.  We have taken the chance to refill the water tanks, top up the batteries and do a bit of provisioning.
