Thursday 21st May – Mgarr, Gozo

Today was another glorious, hot and sunny day and we decided to spend the day on Pyxis enjoying the sunshine and watching the activity in the harbour.

Whilst we were having breakfast we watched the sea plane arrive; this offers sightseeing flights from Valetta to Mgarr.  It parks in quite a small space close to where we are berthed.  It visited us twice during the day.  Our role was to sit on deck and wave to the visitors as they came in to land and wave them off when they went.  I got this impression as the crew member who was handling the lines to the pontoon waved to us each time to ensure we waved back to the passengers.

Just across the harbour the workmen were busy floating in a new ‘I’ pontoon which was conspicuous by its absence when we arrived.

In the afternoon we donned our swimwear and camped out on the foredeck with a book and sunbathed for a couple of hours.  I had to get into the shade eventually before I started to crisp.
