Again we had a hot and sunny day – so I did some washing this morning. Connecting the hosepipe was a bit of a challenge as the local fitting is too big for our hose but we managed to improvise a connection in the end.

The wind built during the morning and it was a hundred pegs per item by lunchtime. By the time lunch was over everything was dry and we headed off to the local shops. I bought some more 'crocs' that are actually 'croks' made in Tunisia.

I tried them out late this afternoon as we went off to the local Medina here in Yasmine that turned out to be a purpose built development as part of a theme park and hotel complex. The 'croks' were fine, the medina, however, was a bit disappointing after our experience with the real thing in Bizerte and Tunis – a bit like Milton Keynes, complete with statues of elephants rather than concrete cows, and full of tourists.

Rosi and Otwin came over for a drink this evening - I made a lemon drizzle cake (recipe courtesy of Sarah on Cape).
