Tuesday 9th December – Cagliari (Wind, rain & driving – Italian style)

Brian left for home today.  It was raining and windy, a return to the weather we have come to expect here.  We decided to take Brian to the airport in one of “Max’s cars”; the marina has a great facility whereby they keep a couple of ‘runarounds’ for use locally which you can hire by the hour.

I drove and Richard navigated (I do not have a good sense of direction so it was better that we arranged it that way) and we arrived at the airport within about 15 minutes.  This is so much faster than the local buses that we will try this again.

I had been worried about the traffic as Italian driving has a style all of its own but it was OK in the end – I was only pipped once but it was an Italian pip to say I wasn’t going fast enough through town rather than I was doing something wrong.

This afternoon the rain continued; eventually it eased late afternoon and Richard went out to re-provision and renew the internet.  Sometime later he returned with food but had been unable to renew the internet as the company’s systems were down so it looks like another trip out tomorrow morning L

This evening we have rested with a DVD.
