Tuesday 11th November – Cagliari (Jobs)

It was a lovely warm day with little wind which we took advantage of by tackling a few jobs on the boat.

Richard set to varnishing our passerelle to protect it against the elements, getting it ready to use over the winter months.

I sanded down an old wooden spice rack we brought back with us and the coat of varnish we gave it this afternoon has restored it to its former glory so that it can be used in the galley.

Unusual for me, I got out a needle and thread and repaired the Italian courtesy flag as it was starting to fray due to the high winds we’ve had since we’ve been here.

The weather is starting to turn however and by 4pm the sun has lost its heat and it is feeling chilly – we have our small oil heaters out and have put the electric blankets on our bed ready for use.

Late afternoon Richard did a run to the chandlers to get some cord so we could repair the zips on the cockpit enclosure and he picked up some more screws to finish the passerelle.

This evening I made a bolognaise sauce with pasta (using fish for me instead of mince).
