Wednesday 24th September – Carloforte, Isola di San Pietro, Sardinia

This morning there was the local market to explore here in Carloforte.  The market was very good, not too big but plenty of variety.  We stocked up on fresh fruit and vegetables and whilst there we bumped into the English couple we were chatting to on Monday, who were also there to do their weekly shop.

Back at Pyxis we decided it was time to sort out the stowage in the galley, so started pulling everything out and cleaning the deep food locker and shelves.

Next door, Cape spotted some good fish around the boats and decided to try some fishing from the pontoon.  We decided that the weather was too good to be spent down below in the galley so put our re-packing on hold and all gathered on the pontoon to try some fishing – we managed to catch some small fish but nothing big enough to be worth eating so we let them go.  Some of the locals were being a little more successful.

As evening came on, it was time for a drink so we all sat on the pontoon enjoying a beer.  Whilst there a yacht came in which we recognised from Mahón so we were able to catch up on their travels.  Later, we invited the marina manager to join us and he chatted away until it was time for him to go home.

A shower arrived and so we decamped into the cockpit enclosure on Pyxis, and then had an impromptu picnic as both boats decided to share their dinners onboard.  Sorting out the galley will have to wait until tomorrow now.
