Early this morning we awoke to rain and the cloud has continued in a threatening vein all day.

After breakfast Richard took the engine off the dinghy and rowed to the floating pontoon nearby so that he could scrub the bottom.  Having thought it would just be a big load of slime he was surprised to discover a whole family of crustaceans had set up residence; they were duly evicted and now the dinghy seems to be gliding through the water at much greater speed.

We were really pleased to hear that our friends from Cape had arrived early this morning after an overnight trip from Mallorca; we went round for coffee this afternoon whilst we chewed over the disastrous weather that we are having at the moment.

This evening I made chips in the oven as the temperature had dropped sufficiently that it is actually nice to have the oven on in the evening.  Still, looking on the bright side, it’s nice to be able to have chips again.
