Wednesday 30th July – Cala de Santa Ponsa, Mallorca

Last night we slept soundly and awoke more refreshed than we have done for some time - the anchorage was very quiet after Sant Elm and stayed so until the motorboats arrived on their day trips.

This morning I attacked Richard’s hair with the hair trimmer – he has now got used to this.

He then took the dinghy off to explore the Cala to recover, trying out the external tank on the outboard which is working well so far.

This afternoon I have stood guard on the boat – one particular motor-boat arrived, anchored very close, then left, for a while, returned and anchored very close again, then moved as even he realised he was too close, still ended up closer than favourite, and then fortunately left this evening.  Yes, we don’t particularly like motor boat owners at the moment.

Richard went off to town to find a supermarket for some fresh fish for this evening which proved a bit of a challenge but after a hike around town he managed to find the Eroski which had a fish counter J; the local ‘tourist’ supermarkets are expensive by contrast and do not have the fresh fish.

Tonight we had a barbecue with Wandering Dragon as they are heading on tomorrow.  Originally we planned to go ashore but our chosen landing place had filled up with swimmers and sunbathers so instead we had our barbecue on the back deck of Wandering Dragon.

Cooking fish and chicken in close proximity to Yo-yo was a little problematical and so she was encouraged down below whilst Richard did battle with the BBQ; Koshka was clearly too laid back to concern himself with matters of cooking, food is something that just arrives.  However, they did both benefit from the proceedings and were given some fish and chicken.

After a lovely evening, we have returned for what we hope will be another quiet night.
