Wednesday 9th July – Punta de l’ Avançada, Mallorca (Cala Formentor)

Today we had a quiet morning.  Around lunchtime Peter arrived and he and Richard went off in the rib boat to scout out the next cala just around the headland.

Reports were favourable so after lunch we set off in our dinghy to explore.  The afternoon sea breeze put a chop on the water making for a bit of a bouncy passage at times.

We arrived safely in Cala Formentor, just NW of Isla de Formentor.  It is quite a popular spot with mooring buoys for visiting boats, and the small island giving some shelter to the bay.

We went ashore and I sunbathed for a while whilst Richard went for a swim around the rocks – I’ve be assured the snorkelling is good around here though I’ve yet to try it.

We then went along the beach to a café for coffee before heading back to the boat. The wind dropped off whilst we were ashore which gave as a pleasant run back with the sea smooth.

This evening we went aboard Moonshadow for a sun-downer and were treated to impromptu dinner with our drinks.
