Today was a glorious, sunny day, very hot with clear blue skies and no wind – a definite bikini day, even for Richard (well you know what I mean).

Richard came back from the marina office and reported that the Bay was like a millpond – even the yacht race had ground to a halt, with the yachts bobbing about with full sail.

After yesterday’s exertions we decided to take a holiday.  We packed lunch into our picnic rucksack (a gift from work featuring glasses, plates, napkins, and even salt and pepper pots), packed the sun cream and folding chairs, and set off on the bikes.

We cycled around to a small, sandy beach the far side of the marina looking out across the Bay to Cadiz and settled down for the day.  The beach was quite popular with a number of other people out enjoying the sun but not crowded.  Nearby were a few small restaurants.

We enjoyed a picnic of bread and cheese, with a glass of wine, and had a fabulous relaxing day. A light breeze in the afternoon kept the temperature comfortable.  Richard even went for a swim too!
