Friday 11th January – Albufeira

This morning started bright and sunny, a chance to get some washing done.  The first lot was on the line and dry by lunchtime; the second lot was just on the line by the time the clouds rolled in, announcing the weather front due tonight.  This afternoon the wind and rain has set in (with a brief lull just long enough to try hanging the washing out again).

Richard has checked out the two small local chandleries nearby in search of some blue waxed thread to repair the cockpit enclosure – the thread attaching the zip which joins the canopy and the cockpit enclosure has perished in the sun and gave way when we were putting it up last night.  Unfortunately neither were able to supply the requisite thread and so we have a temporary repair effected with white sail repair thread – it is doing the job, just not the right colour.  Hopefully our next port of call will have it available.

After lunch we have been having a go at some of those liveaboard jobs which have needed doing but haven’t been getting done – repacking the cupboards to sort out the stowage, cleaning the oven, fixing the oven (yet again), and cleaning the log (it was under-reading on the way down here yesterday).

This evening we have been for a walk around the marina complex and had a drink at one of the bars before retiring to Pyxis for dinner.
