The çay houses lining the quay behind us didn’t turn into loud discos at night so we had a quiet night and slept well.

Another diver came over to try and free the anchors of the yacht and small motorboat that were stuck yesterday.  With much effort they managed to free the small motorboat but the yacht is still stuck.  There is a large boat in the corner of the harbour which has been converted into a floating balik (fish) restaurant and apparently it is the moorings from that boat which are causing the problems.  They tried for a long time to free the yacht without success, not sure what is going to happen next.  We are hoping that our anchor has not fouled as well.

We have made use of having access to water and electricity to catch up on a few boat jobs.  I have defrosted and cleaned the fridge whilst Richard has cleaned the decks, sprayhood and cockpit enclosure – with the side panels now clean we have swapped them out for the net panels (hoping the rain stays away now).

It has been hot with little wind today.  Late afternoon when it had cooled down a bit we went for a walk.  Erdek is quite a busy little tourist resort, mainly for people from Turkey.  To either side of the harbour are some small beaches which are busy with families enjoying their summer holidays.

This evening we decided to get a couple of balik ekmeks for dinner from the small boat/ café a couple of boats along from us.  I went and ordered whilst Richard showered.  The lady immediate recognised me from Pyxis and indicated I should go back and wait whilst they cooked them; a short while later dinner arrived on a tray.  They were the best balik ekmeks we have had so far and at the price it is cheaper than cooking ourselves.
