Thursday 26th May – Mykonos

It was very windy overnight and still windy this morning…

Another yacht further up the marina discovered it had fouled its anchor on the ground chain when it went to leave.  Then a French boat attempting to leave managed to foul its prop on a rope and got blown back into its berth sideways, knocking the boats either side, and managing to deploy its inflatable danbuoy in the process – the skipper had to spend the rest of the morning on board the large Hallberg Rassy he had hit sorting out insurance details, it has had its toe rail damaged and one of its stanchions broken off.

We unloaded my bike from Pyxis, as it has the rack and panniers, and Richard took it up to the supermarket.  Unfortunately the supermarket is at the top of a steep hill, so it was a long walk uphill to get there but the journey back down with full panniers was much quicker, so we are now stocked up for a few more days.

I cleaned down below whilst he was away and we defrosted the fridge this afternoon so that we could fit everything in it that he had bought.

Late afternoon the clouds rolled in and we have been sitting in heavy rain and impressive thunderstorms all evening.  A yacht arriving late tried to come in stern-to in the cross wind with its anchor not set and was quickly blown down against the quay, knocking the small boat downwind of it in the process – think it will be staying alongside tonight.
