Monday 23rd May – Mykonos (Put another reef in the duvet)

I thought today would be good for some washing; plenty of sun and wind.  However, I can report that 25-30 knots of wind on the beam is not good when trying to hang out a duvet cover.  Having folded it quite small and used lots of pegs it was still untenable on deck (even for me - I could barely stand); ‘heavily reefed’ the duvet soon turned itself over and started popping pegs and I had to make a dash to save it – the pillow cases were horizontal and threatening to shred themselves.  So, I gave up and resorted to hanging the wet washing inside the cockpit enclosure and down below.

Following the washing fest it was late afternoon and we took a walk to the neighbouring beach for a break ashore.  On the way back we stopped off at Carina as Chris had earlier invited us around for an evening drink.

This evening we are sitting having dinner surrounded by wet washing hanging in the cockpit enclosure and saloon, but at least it is all clean now.
