Thursday 5th May – Nisís Trizónia (Rain Again)

This morning over breakfast the weather brightened and a few boats left and we thought maybe the weather forecast was wrong and perhaps we should be taking advantage of the clement weather.

However, within the hour, just as we were finishing our coffee, the clouds rolled in and the rain started in earnest – the boats that had left were going to be getting wet.

The rain continued all day with a brief respite mid afternoon, after which, the end was signalled with a bright flash of lightning and a tremendous thunderstorm that went on for the rest of the evening.  Visibility was severely affected and an unfortunate Nielson flotilla arrived in the middle of it and 10 boats with 10 sodden crews struggled to berth on the far breakwater in torrential rain.

Later, they went off, in the continuing rain, to a well deserved meal at one of the tavernas.

We have stayed on board and enjoyed the delights of chateau Pyxis.
