Wednesday 4th May – Nisís Trizónia (Pizza)

Again we woke up to weather more reminiscent of the UK than of the Med.  Except for an hour of pleasant sunshine between 3pm and 4pm, we have had constant drizzle interspersed with full-on rain.  It barely got light and it never got dry.  The wind has ranged between nothing at all and F5.

A number of boats arrived over the day, though we suspect that the only reason they were on the move is that the winter contracts at the various marinas and yards are now finished and they have to move or pay the summer rates!

We decided to try out the generator and took it on shore during a dry-ish spell and got it running to charge the batteries – pleased to say that it worked (though of course the rain started shortly after, so it had to get used to being wet for the hour and a half it was on).

When the drizzle eased again, Richard went to the little shop on the off chance they might have some bread; they didn’t, you have to order it a day ahead here, so he has booked some for tomorrow.

Given the weather we didn’t fancy getting off the boat for a trip to the mainland on the little ferry this afternoon as planned, so I decided to dig out the bread flour and dried yeast and make pizza dough; we treated ourselves to home made pizza this evening which was rather good, if not very Greek.
