Wednesday 13th April – Messolonghi (Back to Basics)

After some rain and wind overnight, the weather cheered up today – it was sunny but a little cool.  It wasn’t until the afternoon that the shorts were broken out.

The marina is much the same, though the new office building is now open and quite smart.  The yard is full of boats but work has yet to start on extending the pontoons.

After breakfast (pastries courtesy of the bread man), we walked to the supermarket with trolley to start stocking up on victuals - we currently have few stores aboard, having run them down before going home last October.  We’d forgotten what a long walk it is but we need the exercise after using the car all winter. Being Spring, the air is full of the scent of orange blossom.

Having unpacked our bags quickly last night, this afternoon we started trying to find space for everything again.

We took a break late afternoon to visit Russell on Aqua Domus to catch up with how things have been in Messolonghi over the winter and had a cup of tea and a beer before coming back for dinner and a DVD.
