Monday 27th September – Messolonghi (Rest)

Last night turned out to be a fitful night.  The P’s were delayed and I asked them to text when they got to the UK to let us know they were back OK.  The text arrived just before 2am and I estimated that it would take them an hour or so to drive home so I asked them to send a text, thinking that I would just read it and go back to sleep.  However, I woke up around 4.30am and realised that they hadn’t called.  We called them and found out that their car had broken down on the way back from the airport – yuk.  So, they ended up being towed home and didn’t get home until 6am Greek time, 4am UK time.  We were up at 6am to see Kath and Gavin off to the airport and so we were up anyway when they finally let us know they were home.

Around 9am, our neighbours, Electric Monk, departed for a sail to the Ionian with their visitors, leaving us in charge of feeding the kitten (who is looking more like a cat than a pipe cleaner now).

After some coffee, we went out to top up the hire car with fuel and make a last trip to the supermarket before the car went back.

We had a quiet day as we were feeling tired – tidying up on the boat and doing some reading.  The marina guys were busy pulling boats out of the water today, including quite a few we know, so there was quite a lot of activity to catch up on.

This evening we ate aboard and watched a DVD.
