Saturday 21st August – Messolonghi

Last night a fresh easterly kicked in – we had to get up in the middle of the night and take down the wind scoop and at one point something metallic went ‘clang’ all the way across the marina.  We couldn’t see what it was so went back to sleep.  It was a restless night.

We arose around 9am feeling that we had hardly slept and did our ‘responsible adult’ bit and fed Lucky and the kitten.  However, due to the strong winds, our neighbour was still alongside us and they treated themselves to a lie in.

Richard was allowed a visit to the chandlery this morning.  He had taken down our tattered Greek courtesy flag yesterday and asked me to tidy it up; me and a sewing needle do not mix and so the expenditure was authorised for a new flag.  That said he still managed to pick up a few other bits whilst he was there.

Whilst he was out he also found the bus station for the local buses, a small booth on one of the corners in town.  Having looked at the timetable in the window he is feeling none the wiser.

This evening it is still windy and our neighbours have said that they will do the feed in the morning so that we can lie in; they don't think that they will get away tomorrow as the forecast is the same as today.
