Title: Lizard Island

14:39.741S 145:27.101E

We had a good day yesterday. Perfect sailing with spinnaker nearly all the way. We caught a nice fish for dinner (spotted macrel) and loset a lure to something big... At some points we had to sail in (or very near) the shipping channel, where we, as a pleasure craft, have no rights. However, we found that all ships gave us a shout on 16 and told us how they wanted to pass us (our pink spinnaker is visible from miles and miles away).

We got here in plenty of daylight and had no problems seing the reefs around the anhorage. Now, we're anchored in good holding sand, and the water is so clear we can even see the anchor (happened last in the pacicfic). We are planning to stay here for a while; do some snorkeling and hiking on the island. Today, we'll go up to the top of the island, to Cooks lookout -where captain Cook finally spotted a passage trought the barrier reef where he could bring his Endevour out to open ocean.
