On arrival off Virgin Gorda this morning we dropped our hook off 'The Baths'. These are some small bays on SW end of Virgin Gorda, where soft sand beaches exist amongst some stunning granite rocks. Certain worth the stop and a lengthy swim ashore. We then moved further N and dropped hook for second time just off Spanish Town. After lunch I took RIB to marina and visited our good friends Cindy & Bob, s/y Godspeed. They are now on hard and the marina were busily widening the concrete pit so that it will accept Godspeed's fined-keel. Godspeed is being left there for the hurricane season whilst Cindy & Bob visit home in Minnesota. Not sure when we will see them next? They kindly donated some lovely foods, including steaks, sausages, chicken & beer to a very good cause - us! They fly home in few days.
We're now on hook in a very settled bay 'Gorda Sound' just to the W if Prickly Pear Island. It's very settled here and all three of us are looking forward to a settled night and good sleep, after our first overnight without - without much sleep!
Likely we'll be here, or thereabouts, until Thursday morning. Then its several days passage N towards Bermuda with some promising E'ly winds being forecast for us. Can we sail all the way? We'll see!
Night night Sue xxx
