When the sun shines directly on the sea here the water is the most beautiful shade of turquoise/azure imaginable. The bay dwarfs Tranquil Bay, Anti-paxos in the Ionian. Not saying either is the better, just that this bay is massive in comparision. We came in very carefully with less than 3.5m under us for some considerable way!
That's it for the sailing for time being. Since departing Gibraltar last October we sailed 4,600 NM, the last 800 NM being sailed after our arrival in Barbados. Our intention now is to have 2 or 3 nights on the hook before taking a marina berth, which I booked many months ago - deposit paid! Unfortunately there is a soddin 'music boat' anchored in middle of the bay (looks like a wreck of an old cargo ship - coaster) in the bay. If it emits 'orrible loud noise we could be in the marina sooner!
For the last week or so we have been working our way through our store of frozen food. We ain't taking any chances with freezer when we're not on the yacht so what remains will be eaten or donated to others. Chances are there won't be much left to give-away when we lock-up, one week tomorrow. The only item Sue's gonna struggle with is my 'monster from the deep'. The 3ft long barracuda I caught on way over. I need to think of a way of disguising it's frozen fillets? Might need to look up recipe for fish-fingers/fish bolla/fish-cakes or fish soup/pie so that Sue ain't put-off it?
We went into Falmouth Harbour on the Rib yesterday afternoon. OK we got drenched (as expected) and it was worth it to top-up milk, eggs and tomatoes. No booze this time! We did a recce into Catamaran Marina and saw s/y More Magic (Hull number 4 Discovery 67) meeting-up with her paid skipper, Alex. Lovely sister yacht to Ticketeeboo and much to big for us!!! I've listed over 30 repairs needed since departing Tenerife. We're 55ft and I guess the list would be even longer on a 67, which is so much bigger than us!
Hope our Grand-kiddies are being just a little naughty? Looking forward to seeing them again soon. Freya get rid of your cold soon, please! Thomas, go easy on the stitches! Love to J,P,F & S and R,M,S & T xxxxxx
