As dark came last night we decided to watch another episode of 'Morse' (someone fantastic bought Sue the whole series on DVD for either Christmas or her Birthday, difficult to remember clearly!). Morse was good and we happily went to bed just after eleven. No sleep though. We rocked like a delinquent one-legged dinosaur might do so until 2 am, when I suggested giving-up and getting underway. The impromptu delivered us a half donk/half sail towards where we now sit on hook, waiting for the S'ly gusty wind to back giving it a more W'ly aspect so that we can rest more peacefully tonight. We were here a noon, quick lunch then hit the sack for couple of hours. Looks like we could be the only yacht here tonight too? We might not have the best holding here (shingle seabed we think) and our hook did not hold a firmly as we like to see it when first dropped. We have, however, been sitting here for 7 hours, swinging from side to side in +25kn gusts from the S, and our faithful Rocna now appears to have dug itself in well and we don't appear to have moved at all. Just the timely 'clunk' as our snubber moves from side to side on the bow-roller. Nevertheless, Sue is thinking a few days in a marina might be a welcome and deserved rest? We'll see .......... because yeah can't do enough for a good woman! The wind is due to start calming and backing soon thereby leading us to expect continuous improvement overnight without needing an anchor watch. If we achieve this we might even stay a second night! Something we haven't done since leaving Addaya.
Nightnight and tattybye for now.
