This morning was fun. Local sailing club held a race/regatta and they placed a wapping great inflatable red buoy just off our bow. No point us getting excited even though more than one or two of the local participants cam very close. Amusingly, just before noon we decided to go ashore and do a recci. As we were almost ready to depart for shore the racers started coming back. Keeping a close eye on what was happening we decided we could run the gauntlet making our way ashore, which we were reasonably successful in achieving, no thanks to some rater excited officials who thought we were getting bit too close to at times?
Once ashore we found the refuse bins and then explored local hostelries for lunch and enjoyed a really good nosh whilst keeping one eye on RIB, one eye on Ticketeeboo and enjoying watching finish of race in between. A splendid day t'is too! Late this afternoon the windies fell almost to a calm so we took the opportunity to drop our genoa sail and finish-off the bit missed by Kenny, when he did the repair jobs for us at Rodney Bay last month. Now we is ticketeeboo again and genoa is ready to go sailing (when we get round to it 'cause it's quite lovely sitting here for now).
We've also started cleaning fenders. Some of 'em are disgustingly dirty and couple even sticky. We need them clean before we birth in Antigua otherwise they'll dirty our sparkly topsides.
