This is the rainy season and in the tropics that can mean you have a river of water running over the hatches.  In our case not all of the water was staying on the outside.  With a couple of days of downpours we had a chance to track down a persistent leak through the handles of the hatches.  It turns out that hatch handles are sealed by O rings (who would have thought it – Andrea) .  After 10 years the O rings had completely perished.  Replacing the O rings was a simple fix that would have prevented the destruction of two consecutive hifi systems.
