Today we are anchored off Airlie Beach. We went into town to take a look around and found a pleasant seaside town, rather different from the tired nightspot we had been led to expect.

On the way over from Whitehaven we passed some houses that had Andrea wondering whether it might be nice to live in the Whitsundays. Views of the ocean and of humpback whales.

A passing humpback whale. There are laws in the barrier reef area against approaching whales, but this one surfaced right next to us so we just turned off the engine and watched it pass by.
